iNOEX WARP inline measurement system

The WARP leverages the latest developments in radar sensor technology to deliver highly precise  contactless measurement of diameter and wall thickness values at 8 points or over 100% of a pipe while it is being extruded. The mechanical design is based on dozens of successful installations throughout the world over the last few years which have proven the underlying radar technology can accurately and reliably measure pipes produced from a range of raw materials during production. Thus, expanding the ability of users to collect process data so that extrusion line performance can be optimized via closed-loop control and production data can be easily stored for future reference. Furthermore, the systems have a small footprint in the direction of extrusion and a reduced footprint with easy access for maintenance during production which allows more flexibility in line placement and conserves precious space.

The WARP features field-proven radar-based technology and thanks to high-precision measurement data allowing pipes to be manufactured as close to minimum specifications as possible, process optimization for less weight per length and additional material savings due to reduced time to bring the production into specification. The complete documentation, standardised process data interface and Industry 4.0 ready offer complete quality evidence The comprehensive WARP product portfolio with different types and sizes offer high-precision measurement data for almost any pipe dimension for efficient and fully documented production. WARP 8

This inline pipe measuring system for wall thickness and diameter measurement at 8 measuring points or 4 axes provides all the important measurement data required for manual or automated process optimization and control.

The WARP 8 specializes in large wall thicknesses and diameters and therefore offers a particularly wide range of applications.

WARP 100

The WARP 100 is an inline pipe measuring system for wall thickness and diameter measurement on up to 38 measuring points and 19 axes. More than 1500 measurements per second ensure a gapless measurement for pipes with particularly high-quality requirements, such as pressure or gas pipes, at line speeds of up to 15 m/min. The WARP 100 in is available in three sizes and can be used to measure diameters from 90 to 630 mm.

The  static sensors of the WARP 100 are aligned around the pipe and measure it continuously and in parallel. Therefore, this is called a " real" 100 % measurement, because every point of the pipe is included in the measurement, independent of pipe dimension and line speed.

The specially designed optical unit allows to focus the radar waves on the pipe centre. Sensors are aligned in a way to make measuring spots overlap so that a strict inspection is guaranteed in extrusion direction.

Measured values such as wall thickness, diameter, ovality, eccentricity or process conditions (e.g. sagging) are recorded with high precision, then documented and used for automatic process control. The standardized process data interface OPC-UA offers further advantages for digitizing production.

WARP portable

The WARP portable is a mobile, radar-based handheld measuring device for wall thickness measurement, specially designed for medium and large-sized pipe extrusion. The possible applications are very flexible, whether as a fast-centering aid in the start-up process, for final production control or as a stock control device, the measurement results are immediately available at the push of a button.  Not only wall thicknesses at pipe ends can be measured, also the course inside a pipe section or a plate.

The measurement process takes place at the push of a button. The last 100 measured valuesare stored including the measuring angle on the pipe as well as the time stamp.

SAVEOMAT gravimetric systems – reliable dosing and reduced material consumption

SAVEOMAT is a gravimetric system used for trouble-free material feeding and the collection of data on mass throughput variations and their precise offset. Significant features of the SAVEOMAT are the utmost precision, the state-of-the art control and an easy operation. Hardware and software were more and more refined during 35 years of cooperation with our customers and extrusion line manufacturers. The same volume is not identical to the same mass – this guideline summarizes demands on a modern gravimetric automation system. iNOEX therefore consistently uses the material weight as measurement unit.

Mechanics and electronics are adapted to each other in order to grant a precise and intelligent dosing process of all material components. Retrofitting is easy due to the modular design of all electronic components. A stand-alone feature of the igs-electronics developed by iNOEX its capability for self-optimization. The measuring electronics independently adapts to each material component and self-optimizes during each measuring cycle. State-of the-art dosing motors offer a large speed range and high torque so that in turn no screw changes are required. Sophisticated control algorithms grant a continuous conveyance of even the smallest material quantities directly on top of the extruder.

The dosing of solid, liquid, powder or multiple components, whether PE-, PP-, PVC or PVC-O extrusion lines: iNOEX GmbH offers a tailor-made solution for each application. The result is a higher flexibility, a higher economic line efficiency and a higher profitability. Material savings can be up to 5 % (depending on mass throughput quantities and production time).
