Team "iNOEX ON TOUR" in 24-hour cycling race on Nürburgring
Over 6500 cyclists in "Rad am Ring"- Cycling fever in Northern bend of Nürburgring.

More than 6500 cyclists were participating in this years’ Rad & Run on the Ring. The event which takes place annually usually attracts athletes throughout Europe: cyclists, walkers, mountain bikers, whether from extreme sports or popular sports.

Besides offering a physical challenge, the Eifel offers an impressive landscape. Not only professional but also popular sportsmen have a passion for Nürburgring: „Its topographical structure is exhausting but the scenery is simply marvellous.” This year for the first time an iNOEX team was at the starting line.

Prior to the event, the team consisting of 4 members including its captain Henrik Witt did a lot of practical training as preparation for the coming challenge. Being equipped with a uniform iNOEX outfit, captain Henrik Witt and his team Angelika Theine and Frank and Nils Goy started for iNOEX:

„The north bend stretches over 23 kilometres and covers an altitude of 500 meters. It is very demanding, even for professionally trained cyclists. The asphalt is very smooth, clean and of unmatched quality – a paradise for cyclists, no oncoming traffic, sufficient space and a varying racing course including 72 bends.

But besides, our expectations regarding the highly demanding topography with continuous uphill and downhill racing were fully met. The longest uphill stretch towards “Hohe Acht” took 4,9 km with a gradient of up to 17 % which makes you feel your legs all along. Great care had to be taken during the night when darkness prevailed over 8 hours and warnings were given because of wild boar and deer. (Team iNOEX on TOUR)“

Despite all unfavourable circumstances, the Team iNOEX managed to win place 286 of 454 teams that started which is a really notable success. The team made 23 rounds over the north bend and this in 23 hrs 25 min.

Total kilometres of the team: 535,9 km
Total altitude: 10.120 m
Average speed: 22,85 km/h

We are looking forward to next year already!
