Measurement by AUREX.

Ultrasonic measurement is based on the determination of the ultrasonic transit time within a piece of material. A piezoelectric crystal generates an ultrasonic pulse in the sensor head. This pulse is conducted into the measured piece, i.e. the pipe or the tube. Ultrasonic energy transmission by air is very difficult, therefore water is used for coupling.
The measuring heads are fixed within the measuring mechanics and have a direct link to the ius electronics. The most suitable sensor type for each application is chosen from a large portfolio of sensors.





Control by AUREX.

AUREX control guarantees an optimisation of product features and process engineering. This is how quality assurance, wall thickness minimisation and raw material savings can be achieved.

Calibration is either done manually (correction factor) or by the proven automatic calibration system, based on the measured weight per metre. This combination of gravimetric mass throughput recording and ultrasonic wall thickness measurement will always supply accurate and absolute measuring values. Which is a reliable base for the automatic documentation of quality data and wall thickness control besides the automated extrusion die centering.

Based on automatic calibration, thin point control becomes possible. This means that the thinnest spot of the pipe is always thicker than the bottom standard limit. Through the combination with the gravimetric module, haul-off speeds are adapted to actual mass throughput rates. Every geometry will therefore reliably remain on bottom standard limits.
