AUREX - what is it about?
AUREX , the ultrasonic system for quality control of plastic material pipes and tubes in the extrusion process. The system measures & controls the conformity of product parameters to given standards:
- Wall thickness: individual layers and total layer thickness
- Wall thickness distribution
- Interior diameter
- Exterior diameter
- Ovalness
- Eccentricity
- Surface flaws
AUREX documents all relevant quality data and can therefore provide evidence on quality in compliance with global standards. AUREX systems are suitable for the integration into new extrusion machinery or for retrofitting into existing extrusion lines.
The system in short.
AUREX is configured in modules. A tailor-made AUREX system encompasses the components hereunder, always based on the specific features of your extrusion process and your customer’s markets:
- Measuring mechanics
- Intelligent ultrasonic sensor (ius)
- Terminal (not required for the integration via CAN-Bus-/Profibus)
The strong points:
- Constant compliance with standards
- Flawless production process
- Documented quality to provide evidence for customers
Innovations by iNOEX:
- 100 % wall thickness measurement: AUREX ERS completely scans the pipe in length wise direction and around the circumference. No spot escapes from this detection!
- Automatic calibration: Ultrasonic technology is influenced by temperature. In order to prevent temperature from influencing measuring values, iNOEX invented the automatic calibration over 20 years ago: AUREX continuously determines the actual weight per metre (kg/m) based on the gravimetric data (kg/h) and the haul-off speed (m/min.). Based on the weight per metre, the ultrasonic measurement is calibrated, independent of temperatures in the measured spot. These measured values are always absolute figures!
- Reliable wall thickness, controlled reduction to bottom standards:
Due to the fact that AUREX always provides absolute measuring values, geometric dimensions can be optimised, i.e. reduced to minimum standards. Minimum set points for wall thickness are manually entered into the AUREX terminal. Based on gravimetric data, the AUREX system will then automatically adapt weight per metre set points to a lower level.
The applications:
- Gas and pressure pipes
- Tubes: automotive, cosmetics, medicine
- Large diameter pipes up to 2000 mm
- PEX pipes
- Multi-layer tubes/pipes, starting at 0,05 mm wall thickness
- Irrigation tubes, also equipped with drippers
- Cable protection pipes
- Sewage/drainage pipes
