The ADVANTAGE control: one dimension after the other - just press the button.
The ADVANTAGE control automatically adapts all units of the pipe extrusion line which are needed to change dimensions.
An overview.
The control unit disposes of all recipes including their parameters for the adaptation of the extrusion line to a new dimension. The line tracking module ADV uses the flexible calibration sleeve as command variable in order to adapt all components - in correct order and in time.
Pipe recipe for a new pipe dimension.
When a new pipe dimension within the setting range has to be produced, the operator just selects a pipe recipe in the ADVANTAGE control unit.
A set of parameters will be loaded:
- Interior diameter of the calibration sleeve (command variable line tracking module)
- Mass throughput, haul-off speed
- Position setting for the pipe support
- Pressure of sealings
- Vacuum pressure in the tank
- Data ultrasonic measurement
Line tracking for co-ordinated adaptation.
The flexible calibration sleeve is the command variable for dimensional changes and the line tracking. The sleeve can be adapted to the required pipe dimension with an accuracy of approx. 0,02 mm.
The line tracking module ADV initiates the adaptation of all ADVANTAGE components and ensures the correct pressure setting in the tank. Equally, all elements of the downstream equipment, haul-off unit and saw are exactly co-ordinated with the dimensional change.
Changing the working point.
In order to change dimensions, it is necessary to change the working point. To this purpose, the mass throughput and haul-off speed of the extrusion line must be changed. This is initiated at a certain time by the ADV module and the gravimetric iNOEX system, the saveomat. Ultrasonic measurement is deactivated during the dimensional adaptation. Measurement based on the corresponding parameters starts as soon as the new dimension has reached the ultrasonic scanner.
The strong points:
- Rapid and precise change of dimensions without interrupting the production process
- Co-ordinated control of all line components involved
- Modular configuration for a step by step system upgrade
- Co-ordinated control of all required modules via interfaces
