ADVANTAGE EVO WIN stands for gravimetric and ultrasonic components. Differences in quality and efficiency which are sometimes considerable and which are caused by material variations and/or an unstable production process can be eliminated. A reproducible quality and savings of up to 8 % are the benefit when these measuring and control components which are field-proven a thousand times over are integrated into the production process. Weight per metre and thin point control have become a fixed part of the extrusion technology. For higher quality requirements, our technologies for wall thickness measurement define the industrial standards for product safety and conformity to set dimensions. Gas pipes and compressed water pipes are inspected by our 100 % wall thickness measuring systems which offer a full inspection of the total wall thickness. Flaw detection is available on option.
Ultrasonic wall thickness measurement is comparable to echo sounding. A short pulse is generated in the ultrasonic sensor and conducted through the coupling medium water into the plastic pipe. The ultrasonic signal is reflected from the exterior and interior walls of the pipe and returns back to the ultrasonic sensor where it is detected accordingly. The transit time of the signal from its entry into the pipe to its exit corresponds to the double wall thickness of the pipe. When this transit time is multiplied by the sonic speed and the automatic calibration, the wall thickness value results from this calculation.
